I think England still needs his contribution. As long as he can perform well, why should we critize McLaren's decison? Just give him a chance. I'm not a big fan of Beckham but i admires the way he fights for his position. Just be positive!

I'm a beckham knocker, and still am, if he hadn't of been dropped, he would still be putting in lack lustre performances.
becks gets an attendance fee for real madrid, and is more concerned about his next tattoo, or what stupid, idiotic, hair design he is going to wear.
posh has ruined what could have been the greatest england captain ever, look up the word ponce in the dictionary, you should see a photo of beckham, looking back at you.
NOW TELL ME IN YOUR WISDOM,
how in the world can mc claren ever leave beckham out, or for that matter any player out of the england side again, he is now a figure head, and its the crowd or press will pick his squad.

we are all still here,,,Mcclaren got the job because he is an FA "yes"man...if we cant beat a team who have not scored for 2 years what hope is there?.this the same team that Erikson had Mcclaren hasnt changed a thing,,,we had no ideas at all 1st half to breakdown a suspect defence,Russia have a good defence,,see how we fare then
get rid of the so called old guard the Neville sisters and legend in his own mind Rio Ferdinand and we will do better,oh yes and Mcclaren as well,he should never have been given the job in the 1st place.

Two games- Brazil, 8 free kicks of which 7 were off target
Estonia - If every player on that pitch didn't shine then they need kicking. Beckham's return highlights one thing, a weak PR led manager. Nothing won again but I'm sure we can look forward to magnificent results like drawing with Greece in order to let England creep into the world cup/European cup finals

Yes and it's about time... Beckham was involved in 3 of England's 4 goals in the last two matches. And he had a number of other missed chances.
Beckham's past his peak, he's going to MLS in America, he's a marketing icon, he's married to a former Spice Girl, etc... There's a lot to complain about Becks. But he brings professionalism and specific skills to the English national team.
I think he should have a place on the national team after he starts in MLS. Not only does he help the team, he also helps make football (soccer in America) more popular in the U.S. It's great publicity for one of MLS' players to be in one of the best national teams in the world. Right now, MLS players are only in the U.S. national team, and other lower ranked teams like Canada, Trinidad & Tobago, Guatamala, etc...
I know there are plenty of America haters out there... But that's a huge revenue windfall for FIFA (television rights) if football becomes more popular in the U.S.

Beckham's celebrity status was a problem for the England team for some time & before he was dropped you had to go back a long way to find his last good game. Would he be playing as well now, if he had not been dropped ? Maybe the real question is "should he have been brought back sooner ?"
I am glad he is back IF he stays wide on the right; the minute he goes looking for the ball we lose our shape & that will be a problem when we play any decent teams.

based on his current performance there's nothing special about his play apart from his crosses .
Mclaren is a lucky man that Beckham delivered but it is still didn't hide the fact that England must produce the goods with or without Beckham.

Beckham is nearest to the thing England has to a quarterback. His precision in the last 2 matches has been immense.

I think that when he was dropped it was the right call because his form was poor, for England and Real Madrid. But bringing him back was also the right move because he has started playing like we know he can. It seems being dropped was the boot up the backside he needed to raise his game. Its a shame Mc clueless hasnt cottoned on to this and consigned Lampard to a spell on the bench. Players should be picked on form not reputation.

He is only performing to prove a point thats all it is if we hadn t dropped him he would still be the lazy player he was before. All he did was try and play the perfect ball he lost the ball by passing it to the opisistion more then he played a good ball it just so happened that he assisted a couple there are other players who can play balls like that.
