i think there is no need to get the first urine tested for pregnancy. at any time of the day you can give your urine for testing no matter its first of third.

They say morning is better just because that's when most people's urine is most concentrated. For best results, test after not having urinated or had anything to drink for a while. Also, if you are pregnant, the longer you wait to test, the more hCG there will be in your urine, so time of day would be irrelevant. If you have not already spent money on a regular test, just buy a cheapo test strip from the dollar store - these test at 20 mIU hCG, which for me worked 10 days after intercourse! But if you have a less sensitive one (like 100 mIU hCG), just at some point in the day (awake or not) don't pee for a while and also don't drink anything for a while, then test the urine that comes after that.

No.. it really doesn't have to be your first morning urine, however it is the best.... with that said if you are wanting to test during the day, just make sure that you don't consume lots of liquid, in fact try not to consume any for about 8 hours, ( the same time of a nights sleep). First morning urine is best simply because while sleeping you don't consume any liquids, and if your awake and don't consume any, the results should be the same.... good luck!!!

By "first morning's urine", it doesn't necessarily have to be at 8AM. Or in the AM at all. It's when YOU first wake up. The reason the urine is most concentrated at that time is not the actual hour on the clock but the fact that you have been sleeping, and therefore not diluiting your urine with lots of drink or clearing out your bladder by urinating. Whatever time you wake up is fine. I was on a night shift when I got pregnant and I got my positive at 1PM, because that's what time I woke up!

What they mean by "morning urine" is your first pee of the day. No matter what time it is. Your HCG levels will be at its highest after you wake up whether it's morning, noon, or night. I wouldn't do it on only a couple hours but more of a whole "nights" rest. Like 6-8 hours

The first urine of the day is best for those early pregnancy tests, but if you missed your period already, any time of the day should be able to give you an accurate reading.
