depends where you live, how much money you have, and connections....some people are more equal than others. This is done mostly by abortion, however there are rare known cases in rural areas of infacide by the police, which I can not confirm. Not to be too crass, but if they are rich it is not problem, for the poor the lucky ones get adopted...the unluckey ones wind up in sex slavery in a Malaysian hotel
forced abortion is well known. Government policy limits MOST couples to one child, and in a society that values sons, many parents abort baby girls

"may have to pay penalties in more taxes "
Hence, sucks if you are poor. As I said, some people are more equal than others.
However, I have sources, you don't....so :p

I'm the only one who cites sources, including the BBC, abc news, npr, and others....and I get the thumbs down?

No that's not true, but there are higher taxes and you're less likely to find a job, all kinds of stuff. That;s why it's so easy to adopt a child from China.

actually that is untrue.. you're only allowed one BIRTH, but during that birth you can pop out as many kids as you want.. and most chinese women who want to have a lot of children take fertility pills to up their chances of birthing more than one baby.
