My partner knows that I want to have kids and that I am ready now.. but I am waiting until he is also ready.. but I have recently missed a couple of my pills as i was away and didnt take them with me and i also realised that some medication i was taking affects the pill also.

The pill is the only contraceptive we are using at the moment and he has always told me that if i do get pregnant unexpectedly he will stick by me and be happy about it.

What do i do if i turn out to be pregnant? (I cant test for another 10 days or so) but i really dont want him to think i was going behind his back because i wasnt!

What do I do?

..I'm really nervous..

just be honest with him and tell her what happened and why you misses a couple of pills and that you didn't realize till now that the other med interacted with the effectiveness of your BC. and tell him that you have to wait X amount of days before you can test. be sure to use FMU(first morning urine). and if he is a good guy and realizes it take 2 to get pregnant then he might be shocked but will stick by you and support you. hope this helps ~~~good luck~~~

Talk to him NOW!! Tell him that you just realized these things and are worried. That you have to wait another week to find out but you felt you needed to tell him where you stand. Then you should talk about weather you need to find a more reliable form of birth control or if you guys are BOTH willing to accept the responsibilities that come with accidents!

When my husband and I weren't ready we used condoms along with the BCP. I didn't want to have to make any hard decisions.

edb, GET MARRIED! Then he'll stick by you because he is fully committed. You see, you two are playing house, and in your house playing he is acting like "ham and eggs." That is, in ham and eggs, the chicken is just participating, whereas, the hog is fully committed. You two need to marry before your child is born so you both are fully committed. Otherwise, regardless what he says about being "happy about it," many biological fathers see their pregnant girlfriend, realize they're going to be a father for the next 18-years, at least - and run for the hills! Don't let yourself become a single mom with an illegitimate child, for the sake of the child.

While it's possible you got pregnant, chances are also good that you're not. I wouldn't worry about it until your period is late. You may not have anything to worry about at all in the end. And if your boyfriend knows you at all, he will trust that this wasn't intentional.

I would just wait out the next two weeks and not worry so much.

Good luck.

I think that to be fair to him, you need to use a different method of birth control. Check out the patch, where you wear it every week, so there is no pill to forget. Also, if you're ovulating, you both should be using condoms. I suspect that you may subconsciously be sabotaging your birth control, whether you realize it or not. Time to level with him.

Just be truthful, and explain to him step by step how the pregnancy process works. That it takes a few weeks before you can know for sure, and until that time, you're just playing the waiting game. If he's that good a guy, he'll be more than willing to learn, and accept.
