Technically speaking, you are not pregnant - yet. You could very well GET pregnant as sperm can live up to 7 days inside a woman.

As for the dipsticks who said "you can't get pregnant because you only ovulate on day 14" etc - don't listen to them. Every woman is different and "irregular" period is one that isn't predictable at all or has diverted from its usual course. If you charted your periods you'd discover whether or not you have a 28 day cycle or a 21 day cycle or even a 31 day cycle!

Anyway, no you can't possibly BE pregnant, yet, because even if you ovulate right now and a sperm makes it and fertilizes the egg, it still has to implant in your uterus before you are actually pregnant. Implantation can be about 7-14 days after fertilization.

So if you don't want to GET pregnant, go get some emergency contraception - this is exactly the kind of scenario it was designed for. It will prevent fertilization AND prevent implantation. SO whether or not a sperm has met an egg inside you yet, emergency contraception will keep you from getting pregnant.

Ovulation occurs only once in every menstrual cycle, usually around 12 - 16 days before your next period. This is the time when you are most likey to become pregnant.

However i would still speak to your doctor and explain your concerns so that they can help you understand this better.

Go get Plan B immediately. It's most effective if you take it immediately. If you were using condoms, I assume you don't want to get pregnant. Although ovulation typically occurs mid-cycle, it can happen on day four of your cycle, as the other woman noted. (She assumed you WANT to get pregnant.) Since you don't want a child, get Plan B immediately, and talk to the doctor about other birth control than condoms.

First, based on your statement above, you are not pregnant 'coz you just did it tonight. You might get pregnant if you have an irregular period, but if your menstruation occurs regularly every month you cannot get pregnant. Ovulation happens on the fourteenth day after your first day where the egg is released and travels to the uterus where it will stay there for another 14 days for possible fertilization.

Most women ovulate (meaning best time to fall pregnant) about two weeks AFTER their period has started. But not everyone I ovulate at three weeks after. Just wait and see I hope you get want you want.

well, it is a tricky one, it depends on your length of period each month. if you were ovulating, which is highly unlikely, you might get pregnant. having said that, most women have regular periods of 28-31 days, which means ovulation does not occur until day 14-17 of the cycle, and so, having sex on day 7 is very very safe ... unless you have irregular period.

Women generally only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant every month when they ovulate. There is a chance you could be pregnant, but it's a small one.
