Honestly, I would love to see that type of thing, but I think a prime time series or serial would be much better. A daytime soap might limit you (or the writers) to have to tone down the violence, then you would not be able to fully convey the actual profession of law enforcement.
Again- love the idea, just not the daytime aspect of it. If you are thinking of writing one... PLEASE DO!!

well, they are kinda going there with One Life to Live a lot of the time. Bo is the head of the police dept. his son Drew was a cop, John is a cop, Nora is a lawyer, Hank is the DA, Evangeline a lawyer, etc. Sometimes the show has a major focus on the the law & order side of things, other times, not so much.

Most soaps feature law enforcement center stage: Sonny, Jason, and Lucky and Luke are bigger characters on GH then any of the doctors. I think the trick of any soap is to make interesting characters and make them real in spite of melodramatic and outlandish plot-lines

Great idea. Cops cheat too, so why not? Could be some good triangles.

I think that Days of our Lives is already there. They are in the Salem Police Station almost every day.
