I can't believe how that you should even ask it just shows ignorance. I am sure you would understand if the tables were turned.

I agree with you, and I am white. I don't think anyone should use that word

I would like to comment also on your question and other people comments.

First question:

Why do we use the word?
Its because blacks are trying to use such a nasty word and make it endearing. That's what blacks do they try to make things that's such a taboo and try to add humor or make it something cool to use.

I think no one should use it comment was silly too. People usually who say that in my experience are haters. Their mad at the fact that they can't use something so no one can. Their philosophy is if I can't do it no one can.

If were all created equal what should it matter. Nik your a fool sure we all are but that doesn't mean that people are treated as such. I wonder if you see the world in rose colored classes or your such a fool.

Also for anyone else who says why do blacks call each other that. Well let me give you an example. Its like when you can talk and insult your family but as soon as someone outside of it says something theirs a problem.

You know why its because you don't know your not part of that group and lack the understanding and experience to know where their coming from.

Life Lesson
You try and turn lemons into lemonade and thats what were trying to do. Until I got on here I didn't realize how many fools or racist they were. Personally I KAMA you should have asked why are so many whites so ignorant towards the meaning of the past use and present use of the word. It just shows how much white people stay in their own little group and never step out to truly to get a deptful look into other cultures and societies.

Finally the answer to the question

They want to be able to get away with using such a word like whites use to. Without being penalize for it.

The historical settings in this country has made our modern day era brain dead when it comes to having open dialogs from both parties on race. We fold on this issue and it becomes a taboo or controversy when an individual bring up some elements like the N word. The real effective issue of Slavery and Social Justice should be tackled by American Society.

Maybe you should start hanging out with different white people, because obviously, the ones you know aren't too swift. But then again, when you hear blacks calling each other that, what's up with that? Even in songs it's, Yo, *****r. Is that supposed to be cool or something? If any other person calls somebody that, it's prejudice. But when you call each other that, it's okay? Seems to me it's offensive no matter who says it.

I don`t know why people question using "politically correct" language.
Who cares what people used to say or what a word really means, if it is offensive it is offensive!
It`s not up to a person to decide whether someone else should find a word offensive or not. If that person or group finds the word offensive, then we accept that and don`t use it - end of story.
Avoiding racial slurs is not just "politically correct", it`s normal human decency and basic good manners.

When will you realize that it makes absolutely no sense for blacks to call each other the n word but not allow others to use it because they hate it so much. You call whites ignorant, I call you weird.

The tables have been turning for quite sometime & I am not all white,so don't go there!
Just keep your little discriminations going in private!I have no desire to say that word & Those who ask, well, they have a perfect right to! I wonder why black ppl keep saying the nasty sounding word myself!
You young ppl don't know how many older black ppl look down on you for using it!

I don't know maybe if we ask why can't we say cracker, and honkey. Then again I just think all white people are secretly racist and use the N-word when they are amongst each other anyway. And I agree with everyone who says why do we use the N-word and that whole we are saying ***** is bs. Maybe when we should stop using the word ourselves.
