Dwight Howard is only 20 or 21 yrs old and he's just one of those big guys that is playing out of position because the NBA is lacking true centers. He's a power forward, not a center.
First of all, Howard is a terrific athlete for his size 6-11 270 lbs. He has some of the biggest hands in the league and can really play defense. My only concern with Howard is that he's been in the league for 3 seasons now, and he still hasn't developed anywhere near to a decent face up jumper. Every good PF/C needs to have both inside and outside game, hence, Tim Duncan, Karl Malone, David Robinson, Olajuwon.
For the past several seasons, the Magic has been Howard's team, but he seems to be taking the back seat and not really taking charge, especially on offense, he's just wayyyyy tooo unselfish and one-dimensional. He desperately need to add a perimeter game and needs to shoot more.
To me, Howard is a nice player player, but I think Bosh is a the real deal in the east, he's really talented, both defensively and offensively.

Why would you trade Dwight Howard? If you are the GM of Magics, you must be really stupid to do so. This guy is barely 21 or 22, he's already giving you double-double night in, night out. The scary part is, he's not even in his prime years yet. He still has a lot to improve at. He needs to work on his outside game, and his footwork needs improving.
Just look at the playoff game against Detroit Pistons, he pretty much did the same thing. Powered his way in, fighting the tough Detroit Defense. Now I believe he needs the right coach to polish his game up. And what he needs is a sidekick. He needs an all-star player along side him, like how Penny Hardaway was to Shaq, vice verse. Stan Van Gundy could be the coach that can bring Dwight Howard to the next level.

Although it would be very hard (remember that Dwight is still in a 4-year contract that earns him USD 4 million +/ season) I would love having a Dwight Howard on my team anytime. He's a blue-collar worker and a good intimidator. So given a chance of having him I wouldn't hesitate getting the guy because this would bring my team much energy and positivity among his teammates... especially if I am the NY Knicks GM!!

Magic23. You sound like you know enough about basketball to understand that the rights to Dwight Howard's contract will NOT COME EASY.
You would have to offer 2 STARS to get him.
Listen, athletic guys like Howard are at an ABSOLUTE PREMIUM in the league right now and guys like Howard and Stoudamire are NOT NEGOTIABLE.
IF you are trying to work a trade with the Suns or Magic just mention either one of those names if you don't won't the trade to work.
IT IS AN INSULT TO THE SUNS' OR MAGIC'S MANAGEMENT!
It only works on Playstation 2, okay?
