I'd rather be smart because you can do great things if you are smart and learn as much as you can.

In high school I would have said popular but not smart, now that I am out in the real world with a family and kids, I would most definitely choose to be smart.

Smart of course. Later on I can be popular. If I really want to be popular, since I am smart I can do it!

Popularity doesn't get you a high-paying job. Having Intelligence not only helps career wise, but also in everyday life.
Although being "cool" might make you some good connects with people, it will never make you a smart or successful person. (Unless you have some sort of talent)

I'd rather give up being popular than give up being smart, if that's what you mean :)

I rather be Popular.
You can get far with 1/2 a brain and a lot of people backing you up.
Trust me. I see this in action on a daily basis. In jobs that I've had, the leaders aren't always the smartest. They are well liked and popular....

Smart people create; popular people become politicians. Since I despise bureacrats of any stripe, I think I'll stick with smart, too.
