People tend not to think before acting. When something bad happens to a person the first reaction is emotional and then they in turn go out and cause hurt to another person. If people were not as high-strung and thought before they acted, they would be much less likely to hurt others. On a larger scale (such as one country versus another in a war) it's largely due to dehumanization caused by political rhetoric, or because with the large gap between the two sides it is nearly impossible to imagine what the opposing culture might be like and that they actually might be people too.

I do not believe in hurting others, so would NEVER do so on purpose. Even when I was younger, I never wanted to hurt anyone else.

I am up in years and as far as I know I havent hurt anyone...if I have no one has mentioned it...I always put myself in their shoes....doesnt feel good so I dont...I pray I never do too..I would feel awfull
