The length of the digits does not determine which decimal is greatest. The first digit is called the tenth place. If the tenth place is larger than the number is larger. If they match (as in .411 and .422) then check the next place, the hundredth place, and so on.

if you don't get decimals, think of it this way -
both those numbers are bigger than 0 but less than 1
1>0 right? so the number that is closer to 1 is greater than the number closer to 0.

Maybe draw a number line if u still dont get it or you could take move the decimal point over three spaces for both and compare the two numbers

If you round them off so there are not a bunch of low value numbers to distract you the answer is clear, The number that starts with 0.4 is bigger than the number that starts with 0.1 because 4 is larger than 1.
