My 2003 Pontiac Aztek is acting up. The gas lights keep reading low fuel after I put gas in and the gauge keeps going from full to empty. Today for the first time at a stop light it stalled out for no reason. Im stressing because its my only vehicle and I dont have the money to take it in. Can anyone help?

Your fuel sending unit had gone bad. When the needle goes to "Empty", the car computer assumed it is empty thus stalled your engine.

These vans have a poor fuel sendor assembly in them and it sounds as if yours has had it as well. They will intermittently open and then re-connect which makes the guage act crazy and the computer react by turning the SES light on. This will not cause the motor to stall, however. If you don't have the money to repair it, live with it. When you have the money, go get the van scanned to see what the codes are in the PCM and that will start the diagnosis for the stall and confirm the fuel guage problem. Good luck.

The gas guage needs to be checked and probably cleanded so that the first thing you do. take it to a garage and tellthem what's wrong with it.
