When it come to girls playing sports like I asked a question early about softball and these are some of the comments said both by dudes:

"btw that isn't baseball. I think there is a section called "housekeeping" and "what are you doing out of the kitchen?" that this post should go. "

"umm...baseball is a sport, and the other is a way for women to feel like they are actually good at sports"

Women can be sexist too, both sexes tend to generalise eachother a lot also.. but here's my answer to your question lol.

In the past men were the providers for their families or the "breadwinner" while their wives had to be good little servants by cooking, cleaning, looking after children & obeying their husbands. Young boys would play sports while girls would be at home learning how to cook or sew. Almost 30 years after the feminist movements, men still aren't up to speed. Women no longer have to play the role of stay at home mom and housewife, they can get an education, invade their beloved sports & have hot shot jobs which would really intimidate a man -c'mon being told what to do, by a WOMAN!? No chance in hell is a man who wears the pants gonna let some woman tell him what to do & top of that we want them doing dishes & looking after kids, so them being sexist towards us is there way of getting us back & dealing with their hurt pride. Either that or their brains havn't yet caught up with the 21st century (which is highly probable.)

Men and women are both sexist in their own ways. Men just tend to be more obvious about it and seeing a woman in "their" territory is threatening to them.

I know I'm sexist in certain ways mostly that my husband can never do the housework the way I think it should be done, he is not patient enough with people, and he just doesn't listen to people problems. He hears a problem he wants to fix it. I can listen to someone talk about their issues for two hours without ever suggesting a solution, all the while reassuring them they are a worthwhile person who deserves a to be treated as such. Men don't get emotional intelligence. Therefore they are threatened when women step into an arena formerly there's exclusivly.

The first answer was funny- and the second one had it all wrong:
Baseball isn't a sport either. Anything where you score by ending up back where you started is not a sport. Try football (soccer).

Because its predominantly a male arena. They want to feel superior to us so that we can cry on their shoulders and they can play the big, strapping male coming to rescue the damsel in distress

Because they are intimidated that some women can play sports as good or better than they can.
