If it takes him t hours to cycle the distance it will be 4t to walk back, so the total time is 5t = 1.5 hours, so t = 0.3 hours. So it takes him 4×0.3 = 1.2 hours to walk 5km, so he walks at 5/1.2 = 4.2 km/h to 1 d.p.

5/4x + 5/x = 1.5 hr
6x = 5 + 20
x = 25 km/6 hr = 4.17 km/hr
