You know what my husband and I did???? We had sex every day after my period stopped all the way up to right before my period was due just to make sure we got it!!! It was way better than charting it out on a Calendar... LOL!!!

Women typically ovulate 14 days BEFORE their next period. If you have a 28 day cycle that would be day 14, if it's 31 days then it would be day 17. You can use ovulation predictor tests which will tell you about 24 hours before you ovulate. The best time to try is starting 5 days before you ovulate (since sperm can live for 5 days) up until the day after you ovulate since the egg is only good for about 24 hours. Good luck.

The websites are just giving you an average woman's cycle.
The best thing to do is to start tracking YOUR own cycle, such as: Looking for cervical discharge changes, charting your temperature, softness of your cervix and the position and etc...
There are so many things to do to improve your chances of conceiving.
Stress can make you ovulate late(after you ovulate you should get your period 14 days later). So if you ovulate late you will get your period late (and then you get your hopes up to be let down because you probably completely missed your date of ovulation.)
The best method to use I think is, looking for your cervical discharge changes, it should be wetter than usual(a woman always has some degree of moistness in the vagina, don't confuse it with the distinct cervical discharge pattern.
Here is an example:
* You just get off your menses, there should be no discharge present
*When you are starting to ovulate your cervical discharge should be sticky or crumbly.
*The next stage it is creamy or milky.
*Then right before you are about to ovulate it becomes EGGWHITE(which is the most fertil cervical discharge), it can be stringy, or strechy.
When you notice any cervical discharge that is the best time to start having sex(sperm can LIVE up to five days in CERVICAL discharge)
But I say it totally depends on the indivdual, If I got my period on the same day as you, we most likely would not ovulate on the same day.
~Good luck~

ok, you can go get a fertility monitor from the drugstore...usually the 14 days after you start is if you get your period every 28 days...if you get it after, then its later and before, its earlier...so, u may also want to pick up one of the calendar things they give you at the ob and keep track of how often you get your period...then try during the middle of the month (day 10 to 17 after period starts)
good luck
