You are already 37 weeks pregnant, your doctor could induce labor a little early, maybe at 38 or 39 weeks. If you are very uncomfortable already just talk to your doctor.
Honestly, I don't think it would work, but even if it did you would probably not have a very pleasant experience in the delivery room so I wouldn't recommend it. I gather from your question that you are uncomfortable enough already, don't make yourself feel worse.
YOU CAN DO IT!!! HANG IN THERE
BEST WISHES AND HAPPY DELIVERY!!!

As a nurse, I would never advise this. Although 37 weeks can be considered term, it's still a risk for a baby with immature lungs...We still put 37 weekers in the NICU.
Also, your body has to be ready for delivery, meaning the cervix needs to be ripened and ready. Otherwise you're just going to get undue cramping that may cause you to be miserable!
Another risk is that castor oil can cause the baby to have a premature BM, otherwise known as meconium. This is a serious risk to your baby. Babies born through meconium can breath this very thick mess into their lungs causing serious breathing issues.
Contractions alone are very uncomfortable, the last thing you want is extra cramping and diarrhea to go along with it.
Wait patiently, your sweet baby will be here when his or her time has come!

I have a friend that used castrol oil & orange juice & delivered within 24 hours. However, every doctor will tell you this is very dangerous for the baby. You should never force a birth. Babies come when they are ready or when God is ready to send them. It is 3 weeks - wait for healthy baby.

I wouldn't recommend it. If it does give you diarrhea you could end up dehydrated and that is the LAST thing you need going into labor. Delivering is hard enough on your body.
I delivered at 37 wks in mid July so I completely understand that you want this to be over and have your sweet baby in your arms. What I did to bring on labor was have sex with my husband. Orgasm helps get things going, I delivered the next day! Good luck and congratulations!

I have heard of it but unless recommended by a doctor it is not a safe idea. You are prob safe to deliver but you dont have much further and these are the days that the babys lungs develop, the earlier you deliver the more lung complications could occur. I would just wait.

Avoid cheese and different constipating meals. Eat tons of fiber and even take a fiber complement. And additionally the Colace could support. Castor oil would probably supply you diarrhea and also you undoubtedly do not wish that.

My friend was 38 weeks, dilated to 2 cm. She drank some I (don't know how much) in the morning at at 6AM and at 4AM the next morning she had her baby. She said it made her practically spend the day on the toilet and she had cramps but it worked.

I have not experienced it, but I know that it has been shown to work. There are a lot of studies showing that Castor Oil is a natural laxative and it make the uterine muscles contract. In my opinion, I think if you want to induce labor, that is the best way to do so! Good luck and best of health to you and your baby!

It works, but you shouldn't try to induce labor just yet. Usually women do it when they are way past due. If your baby is not ready at all to come out, you may just set yourself up for the poops.
