Hey, Mike Myers was once an "Idiot" his problem is that it stuck even after he left Boston. I don't think He completely knew what he was saying, but by the time he relized it, he was too far to stop, and just lied to complete the story. It is obvious that Giambi used steroids, as he has basically admitted to everything he has done. I think the Commisioner of baseball should allow Giambi to continue using Roids, because it will make the Yankees look even worse, when they are allowed to cheat, and still in last place. Maybe if they put together ten more or so wins, they can have a chance at second place. Better luck next year Yankees fans.

Why shouldn't Myers defend the guy? He is his teammate and, though I have never met him personally, have been told by many of my friends who DO know him that Jason Giami is a pretty decent guy despite what the media and some judgmental fans seem to believe.

Ok, I know all of the judges out there who just read what I wrote are thinking I'm an idiot for defending a guy who has apparently used 'roids in the past, but think this through thoroughly before you cast that next stone: How many of YOU would have the guts to stand up on the national and international stage and say that you have done something not only possibly detrimental to your image, but to your very career, as well? Remember this: Jason, unlike a particular former Reds' hitter, has never blatantly lied and said he never did anything possibly against the code of conduct for the game, has he?

It makes me sad to realize it, but apparently these days being honest like Jason was doesn't seem to have the lustre it formerly had in our society. In fact, being honest has pretty much made him as much as a pariah in our minds as if he betted on baseball, got doped up, then went raping and pillaging in someone's village all on his own - at least according to those of us who do no wrong in our own lives, then run and hide from the light like cockroaches if someone challenges us.....

I guess it all comes down to this: Perhaps (nothing has yet to be empirically proven) perhaps Jason Giambi has erred and actually taken the nasty, nasty steroids which we fear he has. He has been much more upfront and honest about his activities than about any other person of whom I can think off the top of my head, and yet we punish him for being honest. What, in the long run, does that say about us as a society? I'll tell you: It says that if we ever find ourselves in the unfortunate situation of being an American citizen under suspicion of wrongdoing, we'd better clam up, and MAKE THE LAWYERS PROVE WE DID ANYTHING WRONG, because if we are honest, we suffer the wrath of the public at least as much - or more - than if we had volunteered the information in the first place.

WATCH AND NOTE THIS: If Jason Giambi is treated too harshly due to his candor concerning illegal drug use either by the general consensus of public opinion (you and me), Major League Baseball, or the legal system, it will merely make those who decided in the past to use illegal performing enhancing substances to clam up even more, and devise ways of beating the testing system.
Watch and see.

They are teammates, that's what you do, you defend each other and stand up for them. Besides Giambi is the one who stepped forward and admitted it. He was the only one to step up. And he hasn't failed a test since, so we know he's not doing it anymore. Also Mike Myers has the right to say whatever he wants and to defend whoever he wants to.

Because if he hated every player who cheated then he would have allot of people angry at him. Also because he's a teamate of Giambi and there were leaked reports that Giambi failed a amphetemines test when it isn't actually a positive that he has. And in this country last time i checked the legal system worked on "innocent until proven guilty" rule.

Giambi came clean on his own accord. He didn't have to fail a test. That requres considerable guts. He made a mistake and has moved past it. I think that he is the poster boy for the post steriods era.

Yeah what that guy said, the "proof" is in the tests. So what if Giambi admitted it?? Makes perfect sense that someone would admit to taking steroids when they didn't.

Also, Barry Bonds is innocent. It makes sense that he also admitted it when he really didn't do it. And it makes perfect sense that his personal trainer would rather sit in jail for years than tell the "truth" to the grand jury that he never gave Bonds steroids.

He never tested positive is correct have you heard of Giambi failing a test since the policy has gone into place? Nope. You defend your teammates when there's no proof and Giambi never stated what he took did he?

One of the reason why it's been so difficult to get to bottom of the entire steroid scandal is the fact that major league players act as if they're part of a fertility. Despite how much they like or dislike each other they will never point fingers or testify against one another.

This is one of the reasons why Canseco is black balled. He broke the ultimate player code when wrote his wrote his book. Truthful or not, he broke the code and now every major league player hates him for it.

Giambi has very deliberately avoided using the word "steroids" when referring to things he has done or in his half-assed, nonspecific apology attempts. Read his quotes; you're filling in his blanks if you think he has admitted in public to anything.
