Depends on the guys personality.
-personal tattoo [a name, a date, a dedication]
-tribal bands or barbed wire
-Asian inspired [Koi fish, Geishas, flowers]
If I were a guy I would get a sailor inspired tattoo [Sparrow, Nautical star, Panther, etc.]

Any tatoo would be good, just make sure the artist can actually tatoo a person instead of just smudging ink into his skin.

Tribal art in an arm band around bicep. Roman itallic name from shoulder to shoulder. No names unless they're dead or his children. Don't want him taking a razor blade and scratching out some bimbo's name when she cheats on him. Just make sure it can be covered when appropriate. Who knows... he may be invited to the White House for dinner someday. Also, unless he is going to work in a tat parlor, a bar, porn store, etc, employers frown on visible tats.

It depends on the guy. I think tattoos should reflect the
tattoo-ee's, ;) , tastes, beliefs &/or interests.
