I use DSL with a wireless router. The other day, the router and the wireless router were both unplugged from the wall. I plugged them back in and the computer reconnected to the wireless signal just fine, but it won't connect to the Internet. I have determined the problem must be with the router that is hooked to the DSL phone line, and I have tried powering it down and a multitude of other things but I can't seem to get it to work. The tech tried to help me over the phone but it didn't work. Now he is giving me the runaround so I am wondering if anyone else has an idea for me to try.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The tech told me to type that address in and the router page did come up. It showed everything was fine. That is why I am perplexed as to why it wont work. When I plugged the modem back In, I wonder if it screwed it up.

And I have indeed tried to reset both routers several times.

Thank you for your input!!!

Try accessing your DSL modem, the unit that is hooked to the phone line. Most have an IP of 192.168.0.1 Type this number into your browsers address bar and then click go. If this is the correct address your routers firm ware will open allowing you to check the Status. Check to see if it is connected. If not, click on connect.

If this is not the correct number, open the command prompt and at the prompt type ipconfig/all This will give you a list of all the IP's connected to your system.

on the back of the router there is a reset button, have you tried pushing that in? You will need a pen to do it, there may also be one on the back of the dsl box as well. Try doing that.

it could have helped in case you will have typed the message your getting proper to the ip handle. attempt putting that into google and seeing what comes returned. My first answer with on the spot community and connections is to coach the two the computing device and router off. Wait 60 seconds and turn the router returned on. this could make it ask for a clean IP handle. whilst each and all of the appropriate lighting fixtures furnishings are displaying on the router you could then turn on your computing device. wish this helps.
