I got the computer without the passwords and I would like to change a few of the settings.

any Idea how to easily remove the bios battery?

Just use the "HELP button. Print a copy of directions beforehand and it's as easy as 1 2 3. Or call their tech support and have them walk you thru it.
Option 3....call the geek squad and pay them $45 an hour.

Call Dell Technical Support at (800)624-9896 and ask for a Master Password which will clear the BIOS password. You will need the service tag and express service code on the bottom of your laptop. If you are not the original owner you will have to get the registration transfered by going to http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/change_order/en/tag_transfer

btw i suggest you DO NOT try the bios battery removal method.

Remove the BIOS battery and leave it out for a couple of minutes, then reinstall it. This action will rest all BIOS setting back to default and should remove all passwords.
