Okay, General Ambrose Burnside at Fredericksburg. General "Fighting Joe" Hooker at Chancellorsville. General Irwin McDowell at First Bull Run (Manassas). General U.S. Grant at Vicksburg. General P.G.T. Beauregard commanded the secessionist militias at Charleston, S.C. - then Fort SUMTER.

At Fredericksburg, Burnsides led the Union soldiers. They were sorely defeated. He was not (and to his credit, he always acknowledged as much) a good man to have in charge of large forces. He apparently was better suited for smaller groups of men.

Chancellorsville. Grant.

1st Bull Run. I don't remember.

Vicksburg. Grant.
