Also I really want to become a director, but althought it migth be impossible to do, I need to see what I'm going for. I already have ideas and I have written books that I want to turn in to movies. I know its difficult, but can someone tell me what I'am going for.

10 Million for a big budget movie; however to be a good independent budget movie director, with getting good, willing, talented actors who will work for free just to get exposure, between $7,000-$50,000.

For a BIG budget production, you're looking at a production budget in the millions. Huge movies, such as Pirates, usually have budgets of over $100 million.

If you are interested in being a director, you need to start out with small indie films. Realize all this money will most likely come out of your budget unless you're able to secure a small loan. Everyone starts out small, no one becomes a big production movie director right away. It's going to take a lot of time. When you make your first small/indie movie, try entering it in contests. Also, see if you can get into a film school or at least a local community college if it offers film classes to learn the trade.

It's a very cutthroat business and most don't make it to big time. So if directing is what you want to do, you have to be content with the possibility that you may always remain an indie film director.
