Actually, as far as sportsmanship goes, that truly is the best part of the playoffs. But as far as the playoffs in general, winning the cup and going into a gazillion overtimes are the highlights to me. But back to the topic, yea, the playoff handshake is what separates this sport from the rest. Some players not only shake, but hug each other because of the competition and efforts faced by each other. The best thing is that this tradition involves both the winning and losing team which demonstrates what a class act these NHL players are.
And congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks! This coming from a disgruntled Sharks fan. But i'll still shake each and every one of the Duck fan's hand! =)

I think its a good show of sportsmanship. It's simple and to the point. I mean you don't want them like making out or anything. Lol. Of course guys hug other guys on their own discretion and such. I'm just so sad to see the hockey season end. Now for the NHL awards.

Its insane because hockey is such an intense sport, you truly hate your opponents. I think it says a lot about the sport that immediately after such heated playoff series filled with emotion, that players are able to sincerely congratulate their opponent. Doesn't happen in most sports.

Alfy and Scott shook hands and even hugged and share more than a few kind words. There's no lingering hatred between those two, guarenteed.
Alfy is one the classiest players in the league, he gotten a bad rep for doing like 3 'dirty'/'interesting' plays in his ENTIRE career. He's a great player and great person, please oh please get off his damn case. You can easily name dozens of players who deserve a worse rep than this high class gentleman.
