Well, I have to go with Magic Johnson. Of course, other Laker greats like Abdul Jabbar, Chamberlain, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and maybe Kobe Bryant might have something to say about that but here's why it's Magic.

> Magic relive fans of the NBA using his excellent showmanship and will to win that led them to several championships.

> He has been a Laker and a Laker only for his entire career. Guys like Wilt and Abdul Jabbar has been to other teams before the Lakers. Jerry West and Baylor might be Lakers only also but Magic seems greater than them. Something tells me that Kobe won't retire as a Laker and hasn't finished his career yet to be proven an all-time Laker great.

Bottomline: Magic Johnson is the All-time Laker great!

Magic Johnson

He could do Everything

Kareem's best years where the 4 years before Magic. Once Magic came the lakers wher e a title team and where still title teams when Kareem was reduced to a 14 and 6 player and made the finals after he retired.

Magic played his entire career for the Lakers and was a 3 time MVP for them.

Magic will always be defined as THE Laker. saved the game, showtime etc etc.

Kareem - imo he would be looked at differently had he NOT played on same team with Magic. His stats were on the decline in those years, but an amazing career. Who else has ever had an unstoppable shot?

Come on guys. Jerry West defined the NBA and Wilt Chamberlain did more for spreading the basketball "culture" than any one else. And between Jerry West and Wilt, I say Jerry West because Jerry did more for race relations than any other white guy ever in the NBA. He showed that white players can co-exist with black players. That's in the 50's! Look at similar situations in baseball.

Wilt the STILT chamberlin.
Averaged 50pt a game and 20 rebounds a game.
Had a 100 point game.
Had a 50 rebound game.
Still holds 83 records noone has come close to breaking.
Got rings against the best team ever asembled, the early celtics. (their 6th man was Bob Cousy. How crazy is that.)
And he did it all with class.
