Is it customary to tip at Sonic???

Oh most definitely!!. Because they deliver your food to you at your car it is customary to tip. The amout all depends on you at the speed of service. Also, the friendlyness of the employee. If you order food through the drive thru, then you need not tip.

I always tip at a buffet if someone was actually doing something (clearing plates, refilling drinks, etc). I'd leave a few bucks maybe 5 if they were nice too. I tip at Sonic too usually a dollar more then my total. If it's just a drink maybe round to the nearest dollar. Lately my Sonic has been pissing me off so much I didn't tip. I go through the drive thru now instead. Cause I hate having to go to the door every time they freaking mess up my EASY order!

I don't think you have too. It's still considered fast food. But usually, if I or my wife or in-law pays with cash, we give them the change plus a buck.
Now if you get a Sonic that takes Visa, check the reciept. If there's a space for tip, you might as well give the standard 15% percent. Then you'll know for future reference if Sonic is a place to tip (with cash) in the future.

I agree with most everyone - it's not a must - but it is nice. I usually do if I am paying for something and I have cash. I just tell them to keep the change. But if I am using a debit/credit card - I usually do not tip.

Ohhh.....I don't know - I have never been to a Sonic, because we don't have them here.....but I soooo very much want to go, I see all the advertisements on TV for them and it makes me soooo hungry....their drinks look so yummy!

no you dont have too. It would be nice and they would appreciate it but like i never do. if they do something truly amazing besides just bringing your food then there you can tip them.

quite a few people do tip at sonic but i personally don't because i just consider it fast food, they dont do anything but had you your food, so what have they done to disserve a tip.

That's up to you. But i would , they are serving the food to your car.. Something simple $1.00 is good enough.

i have wondered this myself. i actually asked the worker once.
she said she gets tips sometimes and it is very nice. it's not like a have to type of thing...but its nice
