i think Jordan. he had to compete with three of the best teams ever. the lakers with Magic, the Bad boy pistons and the celtic with Bird. people really expected jordan to beat them by his fourth year. don't get me wrong lebron is amazing but the competition in basketball has gone down. the cavs played the wizards with nobody, the old nets, and the overrated pistons. the only one of these teams in the top ten power rankings was the pistons. lebron is ahead of the pace but i think the league is more behind in skill level than when jordan played.

OK OK, now I'm really sick of this question, and ill have to put the hammer down. As for Lebron, hes in the East where 40 games got you in the playoffs. Yes he did better than Jordan did in his first few years, but honestly Lebron does have a team. (lets compare rosters) lebron, Hughes, big Z, Marshall, Gibson, Gooden, Pavlovic, and Varejao. Now lets look at mike's, Corzin, Sellers, Woolridge (on drugs most of the time), Ice man (came when jordan was out 64 games) Quentin Daly and Ennis Whatley (who??). OK I'll favor Lebron by a long shot. Lebron is the NBA's heir, the one they want to be like Mike. Jordan wasn't expected to do what he did, he just did it. He got better over the years, prefected a part of his game each year, not intill 86-87 did Jordan get a team, but that's when you had too many NBA teams with good records in front of him. Now a days, you see a team, do you see a sure Hall of Famer on them, NO. Back then even the Bucks had a nice squad. 10, 20, 30 years from now, we will still be talking about Jordan, just like in baseball we talk about Ruth, Hockey we talk about Gretzky, they are a rare breed, one driven not by money or greed, but a passion, unlike any other.

The two have a near equal skill level at the young age LeBron is now, i.e. four years in the NBA. LeBron has advanced farther at this point, while MJ didn't make the finals until his 7th year. The main difference is mentality, and approach to the game. I think it is an intangible talent that LeBron has, Magic, and Larry had, a guy like Jason Kidd has, too. That is, how to make your teammates better, and confident enough to win a series against a team you hadn't been better than before. That is what MJ learned later, but a quality LeBron was born with. Learning earlier, and being younger, LeBron has a chance to better than MJ, but until he shows and proves, Long Live the King, Michael.

I saw many many games in Chicago where Jordan Played.. and Yes, even against Larry Bird. Jordan is the best hands down. I have been to alot of other games, even here in Atlanta.. against good teams. No one can do what Jordan did. Period!!! He was simply amazing to watch!! There is a reason why he was called AIR Jordan and it was fun to watch him with his tongue always hanging out.

Once again, it's unfair to compare LeBron to Jordan!! Jordan is a retired NBA legend, and LeBron is still a KID. Give him a chance, he is very capable of being better than Jordan in the future.

You can only judge these two together after Lebron James retires. As of now, it would be unfair to compare them. Give LeBron time to prove his greatness as Jordan proved his. Then we'll see after that.

Of course Jordan, Lebron hasnt won anything yet. about the only legitimate comparison you can make is Kobe and Jordan.

no comparison! right now JORDAN all the way, but LeBron got the potential to be better than him! he has all the tools to be the chosen one! oh wait, he is the chosen one! and we're all just witnesses! lol back in jordan era, they dont even workout, todays talent level is way UP than in the 80's and mid 90's.

Jordan of course.

Jordan recently was asked about Lebrons potential after that amazing game he had. He said ton of potential, to be truly one of the greats he needs to be consistent. I agree, ton of potential tho
