my grandad on the farm with an OLD bomb of a car that had no brakes, no door handles, no lights/signals, and only 3rd gear.
it was so much fun! all 20 grandkids learned how to drive in the same way, and us older ones taught the younger ones. it's tradition and i wouldn't mess with it :)
oh, and our whole family has excellent driving records - only 1 of us has lost a point off their license.

Everybody (grew up on farm) so was group effort (mom, dad grandad, aunts, uncles--only saw grandma drive once). My Mom was the first person to let me drive an actual car (hers--in a freshly combined field on the side of a hill--slicker than most ice lol) Was wild and scary and exciting! Driving something made you useful on a farm and we could all drive (an ancient tractor) before we were big enough to reach the pedals from the seat (stood up to do it) I never drove an automatic until after I had a real license! My dad taught me, The service taught me how to drive a stick shift, I remember reporting to my first duty station and the next day I had to drive this huge truck to the supply depot to get a lot of crap, turns out it was a stick shift, long story short I striped the hell out of that tranny!!! but I learned.

My mom mainly. She took me to our local cemetary. You have to go slow and there are hills. Most importantly the majority of the people are already dead so I had a very low chance of killing somebody. LOL

My mom did. She even taught me how to shave. I remember her lathering up and everything. Dad wasn't around so she did it. Love her.

my husband, and it was a standard, he said if I learn how to drive that I can drive anything. I don't know about that. lol
