Well im 26 yrs old, married w/ children? my friends say i act older(40ish) because im more mature and dont prefer the club scene and when im invited to a party i dont go and when i give a party its just immediate family and i dont prefer company much. I drink coffee every morning on the porch and enjoy the birds chirping and morning sunlight and love to read. I dont prefer rap sometimes R&B,classical, and jazz. Friends also say i "act too white" whatever! theres no such thing. I can get along with anyone I just prefer to be to myself. Does anyone see anything wrong with this? I dont.

Humm, not going out to the clubs is one thing.

Not going to friends parties, even for a little while and only inviting over family for your own parties.....Hummm..sounds like your being a little to anti-social.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't spend time with family but if their your friends you need to find some time for them as well even if it's just to show up at their parties for an hour or two.

There's nothing necessarily wrong there, no. You seem to be content not having too many others around and that's fine. I'm actually a loner too, except that I do get lonely some days...****, everyday, lol

Anyway, kudos to you. And just ignore those people that think you act too white. I'm not your typical black kid either. And I'm a BIG fan of pop music! Anyway, I have been told that I act like a white boy too, whatever THAT means.

Bye bye :)

In u.s., being social is quite considerable. Interacting and cooperating w/ people concerns, and you could desire to coach your son that. Being shy or anti-social could be his nature, yet on the comparable time the subject could desire to be his self belief or vanity. you could desire to talk to him quickly, urge him to make friends, and characteristic an harmless toddlers. toddlers is invaluable and there is not any giong returned, so even although he could be sought in his techniques, you will could desire to objective adn cheer him up, advance his self belief, prepare him humorous video clips, or something which will make him open up and get happier. i'm hoping he would not stay like this, stable success!

You're a responsible grown-up. Your friends should try it sometime.

And that "acting white" thing is a complete cop-out. That just means they're jealous you have a stable life that doesn't require going out every night and acting anything at all.

No, for you there is nothing wrong. For others there is... It simply exemplifies the differences between you and others. I prefer solitude most of the time as well.

It's simply a choice that everyone makes; to live for yourself. For everyone it means something different.

This is perhaps the most documented behavior and it is not related to age.

Simply put, you prefer quiet with low risk.

Since you love to read, try looking for books about this.

Be flexible, but don't change who you are. You will find friends that like you for what you do and who you are, but don't say no to your friends just because you don't feel like going with them somewhere. I'm sure they have done things with you that they didn't feel like doing. You may regret not spending time with them when you are older.

"to the beat of a different drummer".

Relax. At least you'll still be able to hear when you
are 40. They'll all be deaf (with rotting livers).

You value different things. Would you rather be doing
what they are doing and not doing what you value?

What are you looking for? Justification for a life that's apparently making you happy? Explanations for why you want it to and it's not? Approval? From whom? Reasoning for why other people question your manner of life?

I'm not trying to be mean... maybe those are just more significant questions... and maybe what you're really asking anyway.

i respect that you choose not to go out partying/clubbing and instead stay home and take care of your kids (i have friends who have kids and i have to remind them of that fact when they ask me to go out with them, lol)...

sometimes, some things just aren't for some people, maybe you're just a "homebody." by no means are you ant-social, bc obviously you still have friends, are married, and still throw parties (whether they be small intimate ones, or huge blow-outs, it's whatev!) so leave it be.

it's good to be content with your life :D
