let that number be b = 12a

From the informations given, we have
3b/4 - b/3 = 15
or 9a - 4a = 15
=>> a = 3

So the number is b = 12a = 36

let that number be x

3/4 x - 1/3 x = 15
(3/4-1/3)x = 15
(9 -4)/(4*3) x = 15

5/12 x = 15
x = 15 * 12/5 = 3*12 = 36

x = 36

3x/4 - x/3 = 15
multiply by the lcd (12)
9x - 4x = 180
5x = 180
x = 36
*thinking*
yep, because 27 - 12 = 15

3/4*x-1/3*x=15
reducing to common denominator =12
(9x-4x)=12*15
5x=180 and x= 36
