I cant give you more advice without more information. How is he a jackass? How do you treat him? What is work like? Is there anything that may cause him stress or even a slight reason to act like a jerk?
If so try to solve THAT problem. If not the calmly explain how you feel you are being treated. Make this professional even though its not a professional situation...he will take you more seriously if you at like you are talking to a co-worker than if you whine and complain.

If your husband is a jackazz then you have to be firm and let him know you will not accept his behavior. Especially if he is extremely arrogant and refuses to compromise, "tough love" is the only option.
However, you have to make it clear to him, calmly, what your dislikes are. After you've communicated your feelings to him and he disregards them, then you must tell him what the consequences are:
#1. leaving the relationship.
#2. leaving him while you go to a friend's to "think"
I prefer #2 because the first is a last ditch effort. Be prepared to follow through with the consequences.
