Is it the sound of "Mikayla" that you don't like? If not, you could spell it the original way, "Michaela" which is not used so much any more, and it would be a tribute to her daddy.
I like the name "Michaela Simone" and I would spell the middle name like that rather than with 2 m's.
Or how about "Kati Soleil" or "Kati Dominique" or maybe "Kati Michaela" after both parents? "Katy" and "Katie" and "Kate" are all very popular, but spelling it similar to the mommy's name is unusual.
I think "soleil" means "sumshine" in French, and that makes it a nice name for a little girl. Is "Soleil" pronounced like so-lay? If so, I like the sound of it.
