x/7 = 6/x

Multiply both sides by x
x(x)/7 = 6x/x
x^2/7 = 6
x^2 = 42 (Multiplying both sides by 7)
x = +/- sqrt (42)

use cross multiplication. x times x = 7 times 6 or
x squared= 42: x = the square root of 42.

x = Â± â42
