If its the multiport injection and not the throttle body, then it is on the back of the in take manifold. it is on the back of the manifold just above the seam where it meets the block. You will see a black tube going to it about 1/2 inch in diameter. the tube originates just under the upper plenum at the rear. it comes off a vacuum branch that supplies about 4 other vacuum lines. When you find it, you will probably need a long needle nose pliers to get to it. when you pull it out, get a really good flash light and look into the hole. If it looks blocked, then the original screen is still installed and completely blocked with carbon. It will look like the bottom of the pcv valve and will be so perfectly smooth that it looks like it belongs there. scratch it with a screwdriver and you will see the carbon chip off. sink a 3 inch drywall screw into it and pull like hell to get it out. throw it away. put a new pcv valve in and you will have a nice day. ITS NOT ON THE VALVE COVER.
PS. before you can pull out the old screen there will be 3 metal tabs that you have to bend up. get a good flashlight

Okay, being an '88, it's probably fuel injection......
Like the other people who replied, look at your valve covers. There is a grommet that the valve is pushed into. One valve cover will have the oil fill and the PVC opening maybe on the other end of the same cover or on the other one.
You might not see it because of part of the intake system. I don't recall off hand what a 302 w/ EFI looks like, but there IS a lot of stuff that might hide the valve covers.

Look for a rubber hose that goes from the carburetor to a valve cover. Disconnect it at the valve cover and voila..you've found the PCV valve! It's pressed into a rubber biscuit on the valve cover.

pcv valve is,nt the hose.the hose in high-quality condition over the valve so is the valve broke or the hose. the two way it,s much less costly to restoration. purely get slightly 3/8 gas hoser and yet another valve. if it,s broke then you definately've a foul vacuum leak and it won,t idle real.

look behind the engine almost to the fire wall, should be just about dead center. you can also use the vacuum diagram under the hood to aid in pin pointing the little bugger.
