The Earth is heated by the sun; solar radiation passes through the atmosphere and is absorbed at the Earth's surface (except for a small portion that is reflected back into space). This heat is readily lost; it is emitted from the surface as infra-red radiation. Fortunately, this infra-red radiation cannot escape the atmosphere as easily as the solar radiation can enter. Instead, some of it is 'trapped' by a number of gases; these gases act in a similar, yet different, way to the glass in a greenhouse - heat is allowed in but cannot get out - hence we have the 'Greenhouse Effect'. Were it not for this natural greenhouse effect the Earth would be at least 30°C cooler and life as we know it would not exist. The greenhouse effect (DoE)

Global warming is actually the warming of the Earth. This will melt the Ice in the world thus raising the sea level. All the fresh water will disrupt the balance in the oceans. The ocean moves water around thus keeping the planets temperature constant. If this stops, the earth actually freezes because the oceans can't move the warm water around to regulate the temps. So global warming is actually warming the earth before it freezes it.

no big words, eh?
well, here goes:
global warming is caused by too much greenhouse gases in the air. These are gases that insulate (keep heat inside) the Earth and the more greenhouse gases there are in the air, the hotter it gets, because the hot air can't release itself into space. These gases come mostly from cars and factories making too much carbon-dioxide. And, believe it or not, another serious cause is cows.
Yep, you betcha, cows. When they eat grass, they pas gas (hey, it rhymes, lol. grass, gas), and they pass a LOT of gas. Tons and tons of gas, all the time. sounds ridiculous, but it is true.
I hope this was helpful. BTW, burning anything makes carbon-dioxide, so don't burn things for the helluvit.

depends how you wanna look at it yea al gore says its co2 from industry and cars witch doesnt help! global warming has been around for a while what they dont wanna tell you is that volcanos put more co2 in the air every day then all the cars and industry put together it comes from more then c02 gas methane gas contributes to it as well and methane comes from decomposing plant matter under water most of it is coming from the frozen lakes in russia witch are melting and natural sources undergound every thing contributes to global warming

all the chemicals in stuff like hairsprays and factories
the chemicals go up to the atmosphere of the earth and slowly it thins the ozone.
all the fires and cars chemicals like carbon dioxide also thin the atmosphere.
the ozone is like a wall that protects the earth from heat
since the ozone gets thinner and thinner, more UV rays and heat come to earth and most of it comes in instead of bouning it back to the sun
the heat is melting all the ice (the ice is like a mirror) and goes directly to the ocean, which makes the water warm.
thats where the hurricanes come
hope this helped

Global warming is "very simalar to " greenhouse gases, the difference is greenhouse gases are natural and global warming is caused by the exsistance of man , [factoies , burning of fossel fuels elevates the c0-2 gases in the enviroment ,co-2 gases is the common denominator . hope this helps:)

Too much CO2 from car exhaust and other sources causes a greenhouse effect in the atmosphere. Put simply, that causes radiation to be trapped and not emitted into space, and heats us up.

carbon monoxide comes out of cars and other fuel-burning machines. the earth uses carbon monoxide in clouds to trap the sun's heat. too much carbon monoxide means more heat is trapped which makes the earth warmer. this is called the Green-house effect.

We are taking a cool liquid from beneath the surface and turning it into a hot gas above the surface.
Is that simple enough?
