I like the offensive tackle/defensive line guy's comment, the smartest thing said so far, "Ask your coach." But do tell him what you like.

Also, pay attention to what the team needs - how many QB's are there, RB's. I'm assuming you want to play and not be benched. Don't worry about your height and weight but check again to see how tall Dad and Mom are. How tall are grandma and grandpa? If they're short, it might be your destiny. But hey, Doug Flutie was a great QB and Warrick Dunn is very very good! Never, if you listen to anything you read about these answers, remember this...NEVER GIVE UP!

DB/WR can also be an option if you're that fast and you think you'll be short as you grow up. Don't let it discourage you, think long term and start developing those skills. Again, talk to your coach! Ask questions, train properly and eat right - I hate to preach, but you have no idea how well you train now will avoid injuries in the future!

Of the two choices, I would say running back. In my experience though you might make a difference at WR.
1.) You would have good familiarity with the offense you run being an ex-QB, and you would probably have a good sense of when a play is breaking down and be able to help out your QB.
2.) Less contact and less need for you to have to block an interior defender (bigger boys) than at RB where you may be required to pass block.
3.) 9 man teams tend to be more wide open offenses (only 3 linemen, right?), so if you have the speed, hands, and sense you can be a huge contributor at WR.

what grade are you in? and whats 9 man football?

ur way too short for both positions.. but if ur a really good QB and u know the plays and u kno how to lead a team then take it..
if u can run go with RB

i recommend CB/WR because ur light and short probably can be quicker than most people

------------------------
Thats why u have a coach.. if u talk to him he might be able to recommend ur position coaches know more than people here..if he tells u one position and u dont like it then tell him what u like and he will tell u what to do to be good at it good luck

If I had to choose between the two for you, I'd go with RB. If you have the speed and quickness to hit an open hole, think of it as Warrick Dunn ... awesome RB and not to big .... also Maurice Jones-drew ... he's like 5'8 and that's exaggerated!

How about defensive back/safety? A small DB can tackle a runner and keep up with receivers going deep.

if you're good at throwing-be a QB
if you're fast and can dodge tackles-be a RB
If you're good at both be a michael vick type QB

you could play either it just depends on if you can throw good or if your fast and can cut up the field
