I would have to say support THEM. I have been in the army for over 15 years and without my family's support I would have been miserable. No matter what reservation you may have (fear, against war, etc..) this person is dear to you and with your support he can be succesful and that is what we all want for those close to us. By all means, express your concerns, but let him know you are behind him.

Support it. Without good military people, we lose our freedoms in this country. I have 5 sons, the oldest of whom was in the military for 6 1/2 years. I am very proud of him and would support any of my other sons if they chose to join.

Support....

although I would worry.

The army (and any military branch) offers many career oppurtunities..and lets face it, not EVERYONE is college material. My husband joined the Marines and its the smartest thing he ever did for our family. He got out at the end of last year and found a really decent job. So why not?
