a group of girls may not be a good idea, unless you're extremely confident and you usually have good luck with getting girls.
I'd say your best bet is to approach one or two women and just start a friendly conversation with plenty of smiles, light jokes and eye contact. Be yourself, and have fun!

dont be creepy about it. i would just go up to them and say hey ladies how are you all doing tonight? see how they react. buy them a round. (not too many drinks because then they are going to use you for them, ive been there i admit)
really just be yourself and act casual. a guy with good confidence is always the best!
