i really need a confidence boost. just a few years ago, i was really outgoing and loud and laughed almost constantly. but now, i feel like a boring person. in conversation, there are a lot more awkward silences and i catch myself stuttering or i find people having to ak me to repeat what i said. i just want to be me again but i don't know how to get there. anyone going through the same thing or have gone through this? have any advice? thanks--

All of us go through changes physically, mentally, and emotionally as we age. I have read that the human body goes through many including chemical changes about every 7 years. As we mature, we change and most of us adapt to those changes well. Some people find that change is depressing as they still want to be young and the "way they used to be." The best thing to do is accept who you are and love each stage of life as it comes. Otherwise, you will find yourself constantly getting a new dress and a new hairstyle!

Sweetie we all have been there. You have just lost that confidence you need. Buy you a new outfit and get your hair done in a new style. Put on a big smile and when you don't know what someone is speaking about, just reply interesting once in a while. Your not boring, you've just got down on yourself. I bet you are a beauitful woman with a warm smile. Here in Texas we love that.

Well, I don't know you, but I'll be your friend. If you believe in prayer, then I will pray for you. If not, focus on something spritual that you do believe in and see the light at the end of your tunnel. Do you know what events (if any) caused you to change? Every day you live is a new day and a new chance to start over; we can't get away from the consequences of the past (if applicable to your changes), but HOPE is a beautiful thing and can lift your spirits quite a bit....

As you age--you change--instead of being upset by change--go with it--accept the new stuff--just make adjustments.Slow down and see what the REAL changes are. Be honest with yourself--see what you can do with what you have at this point in time.Slow down--it isn't all that bad.

I have gone through the same thing, and the way I got over it was by being more self-confident, reading more(to have more to discuss), and by dressing better. If you feel poorly dressed, you have less self-confidence, and tewnd to not speak up as well.
