It is true!

The reason why time appears to fly faster as we age is simply because a measured interval -for example a year, becomes a smaller and smaller proportion of our lives as we get older.

So, a year to a ten year old child is a tenth of his life so his perception of it's duration will feel much longer than to say a fifty year old to whom a year is only 1/50th of his life.

By this logic, when we reach fifty, a year will appear as long as 10.4weeks does to a ten year old child.

Pretty depressing, huh?

Yes - I figure that the reason is that each year becomes a smaller fraction of your total life so far. When you are 2, a year is half your life, when you're 50, a year is 1/50 your life. Each year feels faster by this theory.

That is so true!! After I've turned 21, it seems like took like one year, then I was 25 years old. Then after that, it took like what it seemed like a month and now I'm almost 29??!!!!!! Where the hell did the time go??!!!!!!!

Yes. Each year seems to go by faster and faster. Sometimes I think it's because I can remember more the older I get. Who knows.

here's an equation... Job+kids+lack of rest=frustrating days that fly past extremely fast and nights that only seem to last an hour...(I definitely need some sleep)

Time feels like it is speeding up all the time because as you get older it is less of a percentage of your life.
