I would try Strong Saftey and give yourself a chance to bulk up. If your team runs a 4-3 go to free saftey. This will give you a chance to hit without being in the offense's blocking scheme. Your size needs to gain 40 lbs. to be a force in the middle or outside. But a good workout is high protein, carbs., and less reps more weight workout. Make sure you run to keep speed up. If you are in the South....go for a good summer job to "haul hay" and eat 6 meals a day.

All you can do is weight training for right now and when season comes up youll pick up very fast. LB drills and stuff you will do with your coach and will get you ready. Remember being a LB is more of a mental job because you gotta be able to read the offense. You cant really train yourself to be a linebacker physically because you need bags and such and other people so just hit the weight room and jog. Remember always stay low.

Being a freshman football coach, with your size I would hit the weight room hard to add bulk. If you have the speed I would suggest Strong Safety. You don't need to be as big but still get to play close to the line and be in on the action.

play where your talent allows you to. Yeah , you could hit the weights and bulk up, but i say you are better off working on your technique the most. I guess it all depends on how big the school is your attending.
I played MLB at 150 lbs 5'8" , but we were barely able to field a team. we had to dress freshman just to be able to meet the requirements of NY state. Majority of us played iron man football, so only action the others got was mop up roll.

Weightlift a lot. Do an even amount of legs and arms. Work on speed and agility and you need good footwork. Try some slide drills. They're similar to shifting your feet in basketball. Never cross your feet and just go back and forth a lot through a room or outside. stay low and centered.

Well believe it or not i was in the same situation you were in myself a few(8 or 9) years back(although i weighed less). its hard to find a position but for me working as a receiver and cornerback was fine for me(yeah i wasnt tall bout the same as you, but i worked on being able to jump) as a matter of fact corner was my fave postion. but if u might do better as a runnning back if u can run that is...anyway i played football since i was 12 so i pretty much had a knack of things by the time i was 14. do the position u like and work on the things you need to, to make up for what you lack(i lacked height so i worked on jumping). and whatever you do dont listen to what others tell you what you can or cant do, do it yourself. i went through all the teases but i read a poem that actually inspired me to keep trying. anyway work hard at what you like and im sure you will do fine(unless your planning to be a lineman then ummm....pack more pounds. haha.).

SQUATS.... 135 is little for a LB... you need to get some high bench #s and stuff... but if you can build your legs to do 2X your body weight in squaats you will be perfectly fine

eat ALOT of protein and weight train 4 times a weak and aim for hard heavy low rep sets that hill get you stronger and heavier and SPRINT alot so you dont lose your speed with the extra weight on your body then with that extra weight on your body and the same speed you will hit alot harder

eat more. gain some bulk. linebackers need to be strong so hit the weight room hard. squats are linebackers most important workout in my opinion so make sure your one of the best out of your peers at it.
