We are looking to travel to Kansas and would like to see the Rockies. We want to know how far you have to drive to see them. Thanks everyone

No. You can't see the mountains until you're about 100 miles from them. All you're going to see from Kansas is...Kansas.

P.S. apparently DanKohner doesn't even know where Kansas is in relation to the Rockies. From Kanorado, KS to Golden, CO at the foot of the mountains is less than 200 miles. From Johnson City, KS to Trinidad, CO is 171 miles.

No. The higest point in Kansas is Sunflower mountain which is more like an ant hill on the border. I asked about it in Kansas and was told if you look at the horizon and it's below your navel you are standing on a mountain, and if it's above your navel you are standing in a valley. Kansas is to far away to see the mountains of Colorado even on a clear day.

from the Kansas/Colorado state line its about 200 miles, spend the time and see the Rockies close up

That would be 495 miles, so no. Do you even know where Kansas is in relation to the Rockies?

You can't even see them from eastern Colorado......you'll have to come a bit closer then Kansas.

Nope not even if you were in a plane. They are beaautiful I use to live in Lakewood Colorado and I had a veiw of them from my living room window. GOD I miss that view.
