No spider I've ever heard of spins a black web, but webs do get coated with fine particles. It's possible that dark-colored dust has adhered to the web strands and made it dark. In any case, your proper response when your fiancee' insists on something is "You're so beautiful when you're right all the time, Dear!". I haven't heard, seen, or read about a spider that spins black web before. Anyway, I believe that the web probably got covered with dust or other particles from fumes. Stuffs in the basement usually get covered with dust and fumes specially if the house is located near a busy road.
But then, don't tell your fiancee that she's telling a lie or you don't believe her at all... Maybe she's telling the truth after all. And, you don't want to start a fight... right?:D

fiancee huh? thought it was just one e. oh well. Yea your best bet to to find out, is to take some hairspray and gold glitter and stick it over the spot where the spiders web was. If its just junk in the basement blowing around, when the spider builds a new web itll glitter a little bit, then you'll know

Wolf spiders, eh? i think of you could attempt to catch them vs poisonous conflict -- incredibly difficult to exterminate spiders. I advise you tie your spouse up with extremely some rope, pour some cups of pickle juice on real of her head then decrease her into the basement, screaming in horror, until the spiders scent the juice and dad out and pass slowly throughout her face. then you definately can purely pluck them off one by one with some ice tongs and shop them in an excellent cardboard container -- which you would be able to leave as an excellent suprise for the rubbish guy the subsequent morning.

I have no idea. But if she's a female, she's your fiancee (or more correctly, fiancée), not your fiance.

You are her fiance.
