As it is very expensive to get to be a legal alien or become a legal resident of the United States, the legal Mexican would be the best one to hire. He has shown he is able to make a commitment, shows good judgment and can follow thru on a project. All these qualities are necessary for anyone getting to be a legal alien or legal resident of this country. This is the type of person you want working for you. He has something to lose if he screws up, and a lot to gain if he does a good job.

Make a citizens arrest of the illegal alien and confiscate his equipment. Call the INS to come pick him up. If you do this enough, you can start your own used lawn equipment business and help deport illegals at the same time. Then you will have enough money to just have any of your employees cut the grass.

Go with the legal person, if the authorities found out that you knowingly hired an illegal alien you could end up with legal troubles.

I am almost positive that the laws pertaining to employment of anyone of any nationality do not require homeowners to require proof of a workers "LEGAL STATUS"... I think they only apply to businesses that employ more than 25 persons..You can easily verify if the law applies to homeowners by calling your local authorities..

Which ever one you use, make sure its a MEXI-CAN and not a MEXI-CANT.
