The 1917 Canadian 5 cent coin is made of silver and is called a silver 5 cent coin not a nickel. It trends for $1.50 in grade very good to $5.00 in extra fine. This is about what a dealer would charge, so you would get less from a Canadian coin dealer or one who deals in Canadian coins. Hope this helps.
