He would have had his issues and probably received a lot of flak from the right, but Clinton made the mistake of lying under oath.

Keep in mind that a lot of JKF's popularity has a lot to do with the fact that he was young, good-looking and murdered. Had he not been killed in office, history would probably not be as kind as it has been to him.

He didn't get crucified for his infidelities. Jesus got crucified for all of our infidelities. Bill Clinton simply got a foot note in history as having to endure impeachment hearings because he committed the felony of perjury. Same felony Scooter Libby was convicted of and will spend two and a half years in prison for. How much time did Bill Clinton spend in prison?

The reporters and journalists of the day knew of Kennedy's philandering, but kept it quiet as it wasn't really news.

oh puhlease. the media was just as present in the white house and this wasnt about infidelity it was about LYING under oath. and a few other things.

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
kennedy compares to mother teresa when you consider the above.

No,politicians weren't as moral then as they are now.
Very few were moral after getting into office,it just didn't get reported.
