No, because it'll soak up the water. Plus it's quite obvious if you're wearing a pad in a swimming suit.

If tampons are not an alternative for you, I would avoid swimming until your period is complete. I don't believe it is a healthy practice to swim with a pad as the fluids leave your body and enter the water. Even though the chlorine would kill any bacteria, It is not a good idea. You also face to possibility of staining your bathing suit, etc. There is a sanitary product called a cup which you can discus with your doctor but since it is inserted the same way as a tampon, I am not sure this is an option for you. I am sorry this is not the answer you were hoping for but probably a better choice until you are ready for other options.

Don't ever wear a pad in the pool, it would absorb the water and not blood, so the pad would become useless. Instead, you will bleed right into the pool, which would be 1) disgusting for everyone, including you, and 2) way way embarrassing for you.

Besides, it would feel disgusting... wet soaking thing between your legs, yuck! And it would be obvious to everyone too.

If you don't wanna wear a tampon, stay out of the pool. I suggest waiting until the period is over. Kinda sucks, but that's part of being a woman.

Do not wear a pad in a public swimming pool with a pad on. That is very unsanitary and can be hazardous to others. If any blood gets into the pool, it would be one embarrassing and disgusting. Just wait it out or learn how to use a tampon. Once you use them, you'll never wear a pad again...they feel like diapers.

NO, it will absorb the water and be so totally obvious! If you can't use tampons at all, and your flow is really light, you can probably get by with wearing nothing at all. Just like taking a bath, you will not bleed with water pushing against your vagina, it sort of holds it in. And if there is a restroom at the pool, just immediately go to the restroom after swimming and put another pad on.

No, you cant. It isn't healthy for you or others. If you can't wear tampons you will have to wait until you are done with your period.

One girl to another, go and buy the very smallest tampon you can find with a plastic insert and run it under warm water and it will go in easier. When I got my period for the first time this is the only way that I could wear a tampon. It can't hurt to try. At least if it works, you can go swimming!!

I would not recommend that. Tampons are better. I cannot use those things either. Instead of going in the pool maybe just lay by the pool and tan.
Do not go in the pool with a pad. . .it would not be effective at all.

No, tampons are you only option if you're in water. The pad will expand when it gets wet and that could be embarrassing! Why can't you wear tampons? If it's just because you're not comfortable in them, try a junior or a slender regular. They're not bad and don't take long to get used to.

Please stay out of the pool and save yourself the god awful embarrassment. The pad will not only absorb water from the pool causing it to swell up and become extremely noticable, but also releases the fluid from the pad into the water - sorry to be gross, but just trying to help ya out!

Nope. Either learn to use tampons or stay out the water. A pad in the water is just disgusting.
