My sister was driving home from work one night and a dog ran infront of her Jeep. She couldn't avoid hitting it. When she looked in her mirror she noticed the dog was still moving, but seriously injured. So, she turned her car around and ran over it again to ensure that it was dead and no longer suffering. I know this happened because I was on the cell phone with her when she did it. I understand the logic behind it, but I just don't think I could do it. Could you?

I couldn't even hit the dog in the first place whenever I drive anything if something runs out in front of me I slam on the breaks or curve...Very unsafe I know I just couldn't live with myself knowing that i killed an animal

omg, that is so sad. I would never be able 2 do that, especially since I am a pet lover. If I accidentally drove over it, tho, I would immediately get out of the car, pick it up,and drive it to the nearest vet or animal hospital.

No, that was wrong and cruel..no disrespect ..but 2 kill anything is not cool..it is not like a horse where u put him it down without pain/ pretty much inject a needle and let it go 2 sleep!
I have a conscience, I could not and would not do that and I don't see where that is logic or compassionate at all.

If it was still moving it may have been in shock and could have been taken to a vet and saved. No, I couldn't have done it. I would have taken it to a 24/7 emergency vet. I love my pets as if they were children.

I dont know, that sounds incredibly cruel unless the poor thing was injured beyond repair. I would have taken it to the vet.

She couldn't take it to a vet and spend some money to take care of it? And no I could never do that to an animal.

I would have it in the car & on the way to the nearest vet. I could never do that.

No way. I'd immediately pick it up and take it to the closest animal hospital.
