I have had pain/tenderness on my pelvic bone since somewhere around the 28th week. My doc said it's the baby's position causing the pain. I'm not sure "where" you are feeling tender. Is your midwife doing internal exams at this point? Usually midwives are less intrusive than doctors so I would be surprised if they are. I would suggest you call your midwife and ask her these questions. They are very valid questions and only she can truly answer them.

midwifes are usually better educated in pregnancies than doctors so I would trust them. But if it makes you feel better get an second opionion. You aren't going to hurt their feelings. I was always convineced that someone was wrong with my son and he was fine. It's normal.

Tender is normal too. Some women have it more than others. But make yourself feel better and get a second opionion. I went to 5 doctors and a midwife! And my son is perfectly healthy and beautiful.
