have you ever tried to taste something while holding your nose??

i never realised how much smelll affects taste. today i held my nose and chewed a chewing gum but all i could taste was a sweetness. wasnt untill i leg go of my nose that i could taste the mint. try it.

also there is a name for this but ive forgotten.

I used to hold my nose while taking medicine so I could not taste it. Also, one time, I had a stopped up nose and I was eating and I could not taste anything. THAT, my friend, is torture.

Yeah I always have to hold my nose when I take liquid medicine cause it tastes really gross and when you hold your nose you can barely taste anything it is so weird! I would have never thought that smell affects your taste!

Yeah, I have, but it totally takes the taste away from what ur eating. But of course, it's the only way 2 eat some things...

Yeah it doesn't work for me actually.. I used to take cough medicine this way but i could still taste it just as badly as when it was unplugged. I just choked more because i would forget i was holding my nose.

no iv never tried this. Id say tho that u cant taste much coz i hold my nose if im taking yucky medicine so i dont taste it!!

yeah but if your doing it so you dont taste something bad when you take you let go of your nose breath out through your mouth not your nose or you'll taste it anyway

u do it a lot and you remeber the taste of , say some pop, if u plug your nose you can still taste it but yea, i agree

I used to this when I was little and my Mum used to force cabbage down my throat. Very effective.
