Camaro was the F-body chassis which had elements dating back to 1967 even on the '02 model. An '02 Camaro could have a v6 or the base Corvette's v8. Rear wheel drive was through a solid axle. Max advertised horsepower was 325 SAE. It weighed in around 3500 lbs and was generally considered a muscle car or pony car.
Corvette is the Y-body chassis which is all new for '05. It has been around sense 1953, and only available with a v8 sense 1955. Also rear wheel drive, but with independent suspension. Max advertised hp is 505 sae. New ones weigh around 3100 to 3300 lbs. This is a true sports car, and can take on many cars costing twice as much.

Ok besides the fact the Camaro hasn't been made for 6 years. The 2007 Corvette Base model LS-2 Engine the Camaro had the LS-1 that's 365 hp VS 400 hp. Now for the real differences Corvette weighs almost 1,500 pounds less than Camaro. Corvette Has larger brakes trans axle to distribute the weight better Corvette had a fiberglass body on a aluminium frame Camaro has unitized body and suspension from the Ninety's And the Corvette has the biggest bang for the $ ZO-6 model that has over 500 HP

Corvette is a higher end car the Camaro runs at the level of the mustang where the corvette is up there with th dodge Viper and GT cars like that like that. so engine sizes also has a big difference Corvette runs a bigger engine so an other way some people could consider it , is the Camaro is a muscle car and the corvette is a sports car..

Vettes are a seperate entity ....Camaro usually shared a GM mechanical platform Pontiac Firebird/Trans AM...the Camaro was built to be a pony car...a cheap way to get performance and good fuel economy as well as seat 3 other people...the Vette is a sports car...Chevy's answer to Ferrari, Jaguar, and Porsche...the Vette has been Chevy's flagship model since it's introduction....Camaro was the runner up...any performance parts that were put on the Vette..would show up on the Camaro the next year....the Vette is lighter and faster with a bigger engine offered...wether it be 350 Cid V-8 old school or 347...new school...the 427 and 454 were put in special editions ....The Camaro was the better buy...for 20 to 30 thousand less...you could utilize the performance and aftermarket available to both....67 was a big year for both...the classic Stingray for Vette and the introduction of the Camaro.

A Corvette has only front seats and is more of a racer. It was originally designed to be the first American sports car starting with the C1 in 1953. At first they were racers, capable of running on track as well as being street legal.
The Camaro debuted in, I think, 1967. It's different than a Corvette because it was designed to be both a touring car and a sports car and has a back seat. It holds four or more people to the Corvette's two people maximum. (Yes, I do know someone who is small can be wedged in back of the seats in a Vette...... been there, done that - as they say.)
Both are exceptional cars with tons of power and style. Both are serious power machines. The Camaro is muscle car and the Corvette is a sports car. The Camaro was Chevy's answer to the Mustang while the Corvette was built to compete as the American built version of European sports cars.

To save time and space I have provided this link to a website that explains it in a nutshell though the suspension setup and mechanical advancements are far superior to the camaro.
Most Die Hard camaro guys can take the LT1 LS1 LS2 and so on and boost more power with forced induction, cams, ecu etc than the guy who can afford a corvette payment but not the performance mods to take full potential of it's power this is why you see camaro's that run 6's at the track for 20 grand less.
Just my 0.2 Cents!

The rear seat in the 4th generation models. Most will say the late models Vettes are faster than the Late model Camaro. But, that's BS except, for the ZO6 model Vettes.
Then, there's the Vette body being fibergrass. While the Camaro are made mostly of metal w/ some plastic body parts.
Oh yea, and the price different. Good point, Talbott!!!

The Corvette is only a 2 seater coupe and it's much sportier and more luxurious than the Camaro.

Corvette= $$$, fiberglass body, $$$ body work if wrecked, Fast, considered Super Sport, High retail value, independent suspensions, better handling, attention getter, low production numbers, Mid-Life Crisis (I'm having one right now, lol), pressure to keep it in top shape, headache for up keeps, expensive parts, 1 out of 5 chances to pick up hot ladies, and fun to drive.
Camaro= cheaper, "Corvette owner wanna-be", good suspension, have options for LT1 or LS1 in Camaro, very common commuting, aluminum body (some steel) and affordable for any ages. Cheaper parts. 1 out of 75 chances to pick up hot ladies and still fun to drive.

A corvette is more of a refined sports car.
A camaro is a hot rod, but not built as well as a vette!
My opinion!
